Original pressing of the Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight", released in 1979.

“Rapper’s Delight” was the first recorded Rap hit released on September 16, 1979 that projected Hip-Hop into the public. “Rapper’s Delight” sold two million copies and became the first Rap song to hit the Top 40 on Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 36. The song is performed by The Sugar Hill Gang members, Wonder Mike (Michael Wright, b. 1957), Big Bank Hank (Henry Jackson, b.1956-2014) and Master Gee (Guy O’Brien, b. 1962). The song was sampled from Chic’s “Good Times” and was written by Cold Crush member Grandmaster Caz and produced by Sylvia Robinson. The 15-minute single is credited as the Hip-Hop single introducing Hip-Hop to a mainstream audience.

Sugar Hill Records is printed in a circle in black font. Two orange and yellow circle images are printed in the center.
