The Rock Steady Crew was the leading break dancing and Hip-Hop group formed in 1977 in the Bronx, New York. Members included Crazy Legs (Richard Colón, b. 1966), DJ Cucumber Slice (Robert "Bobbito" Garcia, b. 1966), DJ Qbert (Richard Quitevis, b. 1969), Fever One (Carter McGlasson, b. unknown), Baby Love (Daisy Castro, b. unknown) Madchild (Shane Bunting, b. 1975), Mr. Wiggles (Steffan Clemente, b. 1965), Q-Unique (Anthony Quiles, b. 1972), Rahzel (Rozell Manely Brown, b. 1964) and Tony Touch (Joseph Anthony Hernandez, b. 1969). They recorded a record for Charisma called “Hey You Rock Steady Crew” and the single peaked at No. 6 on the UK Singles Chart and reached the top 10 in many European countries. Members of Rock Steady Crew were featured in the dance films Flashdance and Beat Street, which started international interest in the b-boy subculture.
