Doctor Dré (André Brown, b. 1963) is rapper, radio personality, former MTV VJ and host of Yo! MTV Raps from Westbury, New York. In the early 1980s, Doctor Dré was the DJ at WBAU and formed the Concept Crew with three other DJs at the station. In 1986, the group renamed themselves Original Concept and released an album on Def Jam Recordings, Straight from the Basement of Kooley High in 1988. Doctor Dré also starred in the 1993 film Who's the Man?,and also served as a DJ for the Beastie Boys.
