Text EntriesJ.B. Moore and Robert Ford (1949-2020) were music producers and songwriters known for their pioneering work in early Hip-Hop music production. Moore and Ford funded and produced the recording of Queens rapper Kurtis Blow’s hit 1979 single “Christmas Rappin” and "The Breaks”. The holiday single “Christmas Rappin’” was released on Mercury Records and went Gold. Ford continued to produce music and worked at Def Jam Recordings with influential artists such as Run D.M.C., Will Smith, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and The Beastie Boys.
