Text EntriesFab 5 Freddy (Fred Brathwaite, b. 1959) is visual artist, filmmaker and Hip-Hop pioneer. Freddy was a member of the Brooklyn-based graffiti group the Fabulous 5 and is considered one of the founders of the street art movement. He was the link between the expanding uptown rap scene and the downtown No Wave art scene. In the late 1980s, Freddy was the first host of the revolutionary Hip-Hop music video show Yo! MTV Raps.
