Tomata Du Plenty, born David Harrigan (1948 – 2000) and former leader of the cabaret and comedy troupe Ze Whiz Kidz, Melba Toast (b. unknown), and Rio De Janeiro, born David Gulbranson (b. unknown) formed The Tupperwares in 1975. In 1976, they performed their first show, backed by local Punk band The Telepaths, at the Moore Theatre in Seattle, prior to the premiere of the John Waters movie, “Pink Flamingos.” The band also performed, in 1976, at Polish Hall and the Oddfellows Temple in Seattle. The band dissolved by 1977, and Du Plenty and Gear formed an Electropunk band called The Screamers in Los Angeles.
