Vitamin D (Derrick Jabbar Brown, b. 1976) is a record producer, rapper, DJ and audio engineer from Seattle, Washington and famously acknowledged as one of the most significant contributors to the Seattle HipHop scene. Vitamin D started his Hip-Hop career while still in high school Most of his early work was completed while he was a part of the group Ghetto Chilldren, with whom he made several appearances on compilation albums released by his label Tribal Music Inc. As the founder of the "Seattle sound", Vitamin D is known for the production and engineering for Seattle artists such as Chali 2na, Strange Fruit Project, Redman, Young Buck and Black Sheep. Vitamin D also mentors youth in the community, giving young people from local neighborhoods the opportunity to make music.
