"Girls Ain't Nothing but Trouble" is the debut single by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince, from their 1987 debut album Rock the House released on Philadelphia-based Word Records. The single was released in 1986 and built around a sample from the theme tune of the 1960s television series “I Dream of Jeannie”.
DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jeffrey A. Townes, b. 1965) and Will Smith AKA The Fresh Prince (Willard Christopher Smith Jr., b. 1968) is a Rap and DJ duo from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jazzy Jeff started DJing in the mid-1970s when he was 10 years old. Together with Will Smith, they became the first Rap act to receive a Grammy Award for their second 12" single "Parents Just Don't Understand". The duo picked up a second Grammy for "Summertime" in 1991. Active full time from 1986 to 1994 and occasionally thereafter, they scored a string of lighthearted, fun, and humorous hit singles.
