Text EntriesDJ Jazzy Jeff (Jeffrey A. Townes, b. 1965) and Will Smith AKA The Fresh Prince (Willard Christopher Smith Jr., b. 1968) is a Rap and DJ duo from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jazzy Jeff started DJing in the mid-1970s when he was 10 years old. Together with Will Smith, they became the first Rap act to receive a Grammy Award for their second 12" single "Parents Just Don't Understand". The duo picked up a second Grammy for "Summertime" in 1991. Active full time from 1986 to 1994 and occasionally thereafter, they scored a string of lighthearted, fun, and humorous hit singles.
