"Parents Just Don't Understand" is the second single from DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince's second studio album, He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper. The song won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance at the 1989 Grammy Awards and peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song was released as a single in 1988 and referenced the television show The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.

DJ Jazzy Jeff (Jeffrey A. Townes, b. 1965) and Will Smith AKA The Fresh Prince (Willard Christopher Smith Jr., b. 1968) is a Rap and DJ duo from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Jazzy Jeff started DJing in the mid-1970s when he was 10 years old. Together with Will Smith, they became the first Rap act to receive a Grammy Award for their second 12" single "Parents Just Don't Understand". The duo picked up a second Grammy for "Summertime" in 1991. Active full time from 1986 to 1994 and occasionally thereafter, they scored a string of lighthearted, fun, and humorous hit singles.

Two older adults are facing each other and above them is a thought bubble with two younger men posing inside. Parents Just Don’t Understand DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince are printed across the top.
