This sequined and beaded jacket was formerly owned by Heart guitarist and vocalist, Nancy Wilson (b. 1954). Heart was formed in Seattle by Steve Fossen and Roger Fisher in the 1960s. Originally called The Army, the group would undergo several name and personnel changes, with Nancy’s sister, Ann Wilson (b. 1950) joining the group in 1972 and Nancy joining shortly after. Their success led to a recording contract with the Canadian label Mushroom Records and in 1975 Dreamboat Annie was released. “Crazy on You” and “Magic Man” were hit singles in Canada and the United States and soon pushed the album to platinum status. Heart signed to CBS in 1977 and recorded the million-selling album Little Queen, which included the hit “Barracuda.” The band’s 1977 tour shortly followed the album release with a lineup of guitarist Howard Leese (b. 1951), drummer Mike DeRossier (b. 1951), guitarist Roger Fisher (b. 1950), bassist Steve Fossen (b. 1949), and Ann and Nancy Wilson.
Purple sequined and beaded long-sleeve jacket with V-neck and band around waist. White beads are sewn in vertical lines throughout the jacket, creating the illusion of stripes.
