Look at Me / It's Almost Tomorrow
The Four Pearls released this single with Dolton Records in 1960. On side A, “Look at Me” is an original written by band member Ruben Martin (b. unknown) and features piano by Dave Lewis (1938-1998). “It’s Almost Tomorrow” on side B is a Pop song originally written and performed by the Dream Weavers; The Four Pearls recorded their version with The Frantics, although the other band was not credited on the label.
The Four Pearls were a Rhythm and Blues vocal group, which formed in 1957 to compete in a military talent contest. After winning the contest two years running, the group began performing at the Birdland, one of Seattle, Washington’s dancehalls, where they were backed by the Dave Lewis Combo. The group recorded music in Los Angeles, California with Dootone Records, and later in Seattle with Dolton Records.
