ECCE Queer was a Seattle based zine that ran in Seattle in the early 1990s. The zine was started by John Fall (b. unknown) and Michael Stegman (b. unknown). The two met through their activism work and started writing to address issues of homophobia and AIDS. In an interview with Seattle Gay News in June of 1992, Fall said “We're about celebrating queerness, whatever that means artistically.” The Zine was carried by both local and national distributors. After the success of ECCE’s first poetry read at the Gravity Bar in Seattle, the bar owners requested poetry reads on a regular basis.

The first Gravity Bar was located at the Pike Place Market, Seattle, WA in 1986 by Laurrien Gilman (b. 1953). The establishment focused on fruit and vegetable juices as well as healthy salads and other fare. In 1992 the Gravity Bar had a location in downtown Seattle and served breakfast, lunch and dinner. Gilman sold Gravity Bar in 2000.
