KRS-One/Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone (Lawrence "Kris" Parker, b. 1965), is a rapper, lyricist, and producer from The Bronx, New York. He is famously known as a member of the Hip-Hop group Boogie Down Productions, which he formed with DJ Scott La Rock in the mid-1980s. He is politically active, starting the Stop the Violence Movement after DJ Scott La Rock’s death. This led to the creation of the popular song "Self-Destruction", which was produced by KRS-One and D-Nice of Boogie Down Productions. On his first solo album, 1993's Return of the Boom Bap, he worked with producers DJ Premier, Kid Capri, and Showbiz, providing the track "Sound of da Police". Known for his political responses and socially conscious rhymes KRS-One is known in Hip-Hop as one of the most influential hardcore Hip-Hop artists of the 1980s.

Front cover: A large 5 is printed in grey on a black background. At the bottom there are 5 boroughs based on the subway lines; (Bx, M, Q, Bk, SI). Names of featured artists are listed. Back cover: track list and credits are printed. A map of New York is printed in the background.
