N.W.A (Niggaz Wit Attitudes), is a west coast Hip-Hop group from Compton, California. Its members included Eazy-E (Eric Wright, b. 1964-1995), Dr. Dre (Andre Young, b. 1965), Ice Cube (O’Shea Jackson, b. 1969), MC Ren (Lorenzo Patterson, b. 1969), and DJ Yella (Antoine Carraby, b. 1961). N.W.A was known for rapping about topics that had not yet been explored. The Hip-Hop group had popular, controversial music that included explicit references to gang life, drugs, sex, and dislike for the police due to racial violence and police brutality impacting Black lives in Los Angeles.
