Snoop Doggy Dogg (Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., b. 1971) is a rapper, songwriter, media personality, and actor from Long Beach, California. Doggystyle is the debut album by rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg, which was released on November 23, 1993, on Death Row Records. With his debut album, the lyrical “realism” that he delivers, and his distinctive vocal flow was celebrated. Doggystyle is considered one of the most significant albums of the 1990s, as well as one of the most important Hip-Hop albums ever released.

Don Cornelius (Donald Cortez Cornelius, 1936–2012) was an television show host, producer from Chicgao, Illinois. He is most know as the creator of the music/dance show Soul Train, which he hosted from 1971 until 1993. Cornelius oversaw the development of Soul Train, a program that introduced African Americans to a wider audience and launched the "Black is Beautiful" movement. Before Soul Train, African Americans rarely performed on television, usually as guests on shows with a white audience. African American artists and dancers were featured on Soul Train, which also brought African American culture to the television. The popularity of this show among white viewers rose over time and eventually attracted a sizable audience from 1971 to 2006.
