Text Entries“Funky For You” is the 1990 single from the Hip-Hop duo Nice & Smooth released on Fresh Records. The song samples “Heartbeat” by War, “Do That Stuff” by Parliament and “Impeach The President” by The Honey Drippers.
Nice and Smooth is an east coast Hip-Hop duo from New York City. The group included Gregg Nice (Gregg Mays, b. 1967), Smooth Bee (Dard Barnes, b. 1965), and DJ Teddy Ted. The group’s songs often specialized in light-hearted party rhymes. The duo's self-titled debut album Nice & Smooth (1989) was the last record to be released on Sleeping Bag's Fresh Records. The album had two hit singles with the Mary Jane Girls sampling "More and More Hits" and the great "Funky For You".
