No More Mr. Nice Guy is the debut album by Hip-Hop duo Gang Starr. Comprised of DJ Premier and MC Guru, Gang Starr ushered in the first wave of alternative Hip-Hop in the late '80s along with the likes of De La Soul and The Jungle Brothers. The album was released on April 22, 1989. Released under Wild Pitch Records, No More Mr. Nice Guy showcased Premier's scratching technique and Guru's hardcore Rap style, a matchup that would become their signature sound. It peaked at #83 on the Billboard R&B chart.

Gang Starr was an East Coast Hip-Hop duo that consisted of Massachusetts-native MC Guru (Keith Edward Elam, 1961 – 2010) and Texas-native DJ/producer DJ Premier (Christopher Edward Martin, b. 1966). Their style combined elements of New York Jazz and Hip-Hop. During their career, Gang Starr helped pioneer the New York Hip-Hop sound. Gang Starr is considered one of the best MC-and-Texas record artists of the early 90s.
